1 Are you licensed? In Alabama, painting contractors need a business license. Ask to see it.

2 Do you carry general liability insurance? If they hesitate, walk away. This protects your home.

3 Can I see your Google reviews? Not a portfolio they curated — actual Google reviews from real customers with names you can verify.

4 What paint brand do you use? If they can’t name the brand and product line, they’re using the cheapest thing available.

5 Do you offer a warranty? Get it in writing. Verbal warranties mean nothing when the phone number gets disconnected.
