Different surfaces need different products, different prep, and different techniques. Here's what we do for each one.
Wood is the Gulf Coast’s most common exterior surface — and the most abused by our weather. Sun, humidity, salt air, and storms all attack unprotected wood. Here’s how we handle each type.
The backbone of most Gulf Coast homes.
Pressure wash first. No chemicals near your landscaping. Just water pressure to remove dirt, mildew, and loose paint down to a solid surface.
Scrape every peeling area. If paint is coming off in sheets, that old paint has to go. We scrape to a solid edge so new paint has something to grip.
Wood filler and rot repair. Soft spots get cut out and replaced. Cracks and nail holes get filled. This is included in the price — not an add-on.
Prime all bare wood. Any exposed wood gets primed before topcoat. This is the step that prevents peeling from starting again.
More surface area, more edges, more prep.
Every seam gets attention. Board and batten has vertical joints that trap moisture. We caulk and seal every seam to prevent water intrusion.
Spray application. The grooves and raised battens make roller work impossible to do well. We spray for an even factory finish across the entire surface.
The parts nobody thinks about until they’re rotting.
Included in every full exterior. We don’t quote the body separately from the trim and fascia. A full exterior is everything.
Rot repair is common here. Fascia boards take the most water damage on any house. We replace rotted sections before painting.
Painting brick and stucco isn’t the same as painting wood. The surface is porous, it breathes, and the wrong product traps moisture inside your walls.
One coat can change 30 years of dated brick.
Masonry-specific primer. Brick is porous. Standard primer doesn’t penetrate or bond the same way.
Breathable topcoat. The coating has to let moisture escape from inside the wall. Trap it and you get bubbling, peeling, and mold growth.
Mortar joint coverage. Getting paint into every joint requires spray application with back-brushing.
Hairline cracks are normal. The right paint handles them.
Elastomeric coating. This paint stretches. As stucco expands and contracts, elastomeric paint moves with it instead of cracking.
Crack bridging. Hairline cracks up to 1/16" are bridged by the elastomeric film. Larger cracks get patched first.
Metal is a completely different animal. It expands in heat, contracts in cold, develops rust, and standard paint slides right off it.
The Gulf Coast sun destroys metal roof coatings.
Full cleaning and degreasing. Metal roofs collect oxidation, chalk, and grime. All of it has to come off.
Rust conversion. Any rust spots get treated with a conversion primer that chemically transforms rust into a stable base.
DTM topcoat. Direct-to-Metal paint is formulated to flex with the metal as it expands and contracts.
Small surfaces, high visibility, rust-prone.
Wire brush and sand. Every rail and gate gets hand-prepped to remove loose rust and old paint.
Rust-inhibiting primer. Applied same day as prep to prevent flash rusting before topcoat.
Spray finish. Thin profiles like rails and balusters look best sprayed.
The box store kits peel within a year. Real epoxy requires surface prep that most homeowners can’t do themselves.
Hot tires, oil drips, road salt — epoxy handles it all.
Surface prep is everything. We grind or acid etch the concrete to create a profile the epoxy can bond to.
100% solids epoxy. Commercial-grade epoxy that cures harder, lasts longer, and resists chemicals.
Decorative chip broadcast. Optional color chips broadcast into wet epoxy for a showroom finish.
Outdoor-rated coatings that handle UV and moisture.
UV-stable topcoat. Exterior epoxy gets a polyaspartic or urethane topcoat rated for direct sunlight.
Non-slip additive. Outdoor surfaces get texture added to the topcoat for grip when wet.
Horizontal surfaces take more abuse than anything on your property. Rain sits on them. Sun beats down all day. Foot traffic wears them.
Penetrating stain, not surface film.
Pressure wash and dry. Decks need to be fully dry before staining.
Penetrating stain. Film-forming stains peel on horizontal surfaces. Penetrating stain soaks into the wood grain.
Semi-transparent vs solid. Want to see the wood grain? Semi-transparent. Want full color? Solid.
Both sides matter.
Spray application. Fences have too many boards and gaps for roller work. We spray for full coverage.
Both sides where accessible. Water attacks from both directions. We coat both sides wherever we can reach.
That faded patio set doesn’t need to be replaced. We strip, prep, and refinish outdoor furniture to match your freshly painted exterior.
Wrought iron, aluminum, steel — each one handled differently.
Rust treatment first. Any rust gets wire-brushed and treated with conversion primer.
Spray application. Furniture has too many angles and curves for brush work. Spray gives an even factory finish.
Bring it back to life.
Sand and clean. Old finish gets scuffed for adhesion, cleaned of pollen and grime.

Two coats on every surface. We spray the body for a smooth, even finish. Trim, doors, shutters, fascia, soffits, columns, railings — everything in the quote gets two coats. We clean up every day before we leave.
Full walkthrough of every painted surface. Touch-ups happen on the spot, not “we’ll come back.” All tape removed, all drop cloths picked up, landscaping put back. Balance collected only after you confirm 100% satisfaction.

Dirt, mildew, chalk, and loose paint all prevent adhesion. Water pressure removes it all. This is step one on every job we do.
Peeling paint has to come off completely. New paint over peeling paint fails within months.
Any exposed wood — from scraping, rot repair, or new boards — gets primed before topcoat.
Windows, doors, trim joints, corner boards. Water gets in through gaps and rots wood from behind.
Interior paint, contractor-grade paint, and bargain brands fail in Gulf Coast weather. We use Sherwin-Williams.
Between pressure washing and painting, between primer and topcoat. Rushing traps moisture and causes peeling.
New paint over peeling paint comes off even faster. It has nothing to grip.
Bare wood without primer absorbs topcoat unevenly, stains bleed through, and adhesion fails.
Paint applied to a sun-heated surface dries too fast on the outside, trapping solvents underneath.
After pressure washing, wood needs to fully dry. Moisture trapped under paint causes bubbling and peeling.
Painting over rotten wood is like putting makeup on a wound. We cut it out and replace it.
