Wood is the Gulf Coast’s most common exterior surface — and the most abused by our weather. Sun, humidity, salt air, and storms all attack unprotected wood. Here’s how we handle each type.

Wood Siding

The backbone of most Gulf Coast homes.

Pressure wash first. No chemicals near your landscaping. Just water pressure to remove dirt, mildew, and loose paint down to a solid surface.

Scrape every peeling area. If paint is coming off in sheets, that old paint has to go. We scrape to a solid edge so new paint has something to grip.

Wood filler and rot repair. Soft spots get cut out and replaced. Cracks and nail holes get filled. This is included in the price — not an add-on.

Prime all bare wood. Any exposed wood gets primed before topcoat. This is the step that prevents peeling from starting again.

Board & Batten

More surface area, more edges, more prep.

Every seam gets attention. Board and batten has vertical joints that trap moisture. We caulk and seal every seam to prevent water intrusion.

Spray application. The grooves and raised battens make roller work impossible to do well. We spray for an even factory finish across the entire surface.

Soffit & Fascia

The parts nobody thinks about until they’re rotting.

Included in every full exterior. We don’t quote the body separately from the trim and fascia. A full exterior is everything.

Rot repair is common here. Fascia boards take the most water damage on any house. We replace rotted sections before painting.

Brick & Stucco Exterior Painting

Painting brick and stucco isn’t the same as painting wood. The surface is porous, it breathes, and the wrong product traps moisture inside your walls.

Brick Exteriors

One coat can change 30 years of dated brick.

Masonry-specific primer. Brick is porous. Standard primer doesn’t penetrate or bond the same way.

Breathable topcoat. The coating has to let moisture escape from inside the wall. Trap it and you get bubbling, peeling, and mold growth.

Mortar joint coverage. Getting paint into every joint requires spray application with back-brushing.

Stucco Surfaces

Hairline cracks are normal. The right paint handles them.

Elastomeric coating. This paint stretches. As stucco expands and contracts, elastomeric paint moves with it instead of cracking.

Crack bridging. Hairline cracks up to 1/16" are bridged by the elastomeric film. Larger cracks get patched first.

Metal Roofs

The Gulf Coast sun destroys metal roof coatings.

Full cleaning and degreasing. Metal roofs collect oxidation, chalk, and grime. All of it has to come off.

Rust conversion. Any rust spots get treated with a conversion primer that chemically transforms rust into a stable base.

DTM topcoat. Direct-to-Metal paint is formulated to flex with the metal as it expands and contracts.

Pressure wash before anything

Dirt, mildew, chalk, and loose paint all prevent adhesion. Water pressure removes it all. This is step one on every job we do.
